Tire Review: Accelera 651 Sport - XTRA 100 Treadwear
As many of you know from reading my other content, I'm competing in the SCCA Time Trials series, which requires a 200 Treadwear or higher tire for everything but the most extreme cars that compete. This is a great spot for the Accelera 651 Sport 200 Treadwear, where I finished 2nd in class at VIR in March of 2021.
S**t happens. Now what?
We all know that motorsports is a high risk activity. Being given the opportunity to push multiple thousands of pounds of metal around you to positions and levels of grip that you simply don't see on public streets can take its toll on the machine, as well as the person, in the best of circumstances.
The PHI Trilogy
Tire Streets sells three different PHI tires, the Accelera PHI, the PHI 2, and the PHI R. But how do they differ?
The trilogy of PHI tires is great for street driving, canyon runs, in almost any condition. Do you want to be able to perform on a track in either drift or racing situations? Do you have a low HP car (anything less than 400hp)? The PHI tires will give you that opportunity without breaking the bank.
What Treadwear is Right for You
Knowing what treadwear works for the autosport that you are competing in can make a huge difference. The tires you use are the cornerstone of any race vehicle.
