Fuel Fest LA 2023: A Tire Streets Event Recap

t our designated spot, we began assembling our tent, preparing for the day ahead. We were thrilled to have Palmer and Aaron from Animal Style join us. As we don't often get to the west coast, we took this opportunity to roll out the red carpet for them. Their presence added a unique touch to our booth, and they were a hit with the attendees.

A Day of Excitement and Engagement

The day got busier as it progressed. Around 3:30 PM, Michael Diaz brought Cody Walker to our booth for autographs and photo ops. We used this opportunity to give away autographed Tire Streets shirts, which were a hit with the fans. Cody even gave us a shout-out as the official drift tire supplier for Fuel Fest LA, a moment that was captured by Drew and the Fuel Fest team.

Drifting Demo and Feedback

The drifting demo went as expected, although we did encounter some issues with the Hot Pit Auto Fest team. We've suggested to Michael from Fuel Fest that having a consistent drift program director would improve the experience for drivers.

Connecting with Potential Customers

Our QR code sign-ups were a huge success, and we had many impactful conversations with potential customers. We did run out of lanyards and koozies, so we'll be sourcing new suppliers for those.

After the Event: A Visit to The Berrics

After the event, we had the unique opportunity to visit The Berrics, a legendary skate park in downtown Los Angeles. Thanks to industry connections, we were able to park Palmer and Aaron's drift cars inside the skate park for an epic car show. Aaron even got to skate inside, a moment that was beautifully captured by Drew.

Reflections and Looking Ahead

Fuel Fest LA was a long but rewarding day. We're proud to have pulled off another large-scale event without the assistance of an activation agency. We're looking forward to participating in Fuel Fest again next year and finishing out the year with Fuel Fest in December.

As we reflect on the event, we've identified areas for improvement. We need to source a better bag for our 10x20 tent and a crate for our activation materials. We also need to find a better way to anchor our tent on asphalt surfaces.

Conclusion

Fuel Fest LA 2023 was a memorable event for Team Tire Streets. We're excited about the connections we made and the experiences we shared. We can't wait to see what the next event holds for us.
